Holdsworth sport is an important part of our society and one which, in recent years, has seen great success. With participation in sports including football, rugby and netball, Holdsworth sport gives society members the opportunity to partake in these activities at both a friendly and competitive level. Intramural leagues against other societies and inter-university competitions against other law schools, allows the Holdsworth Club to exhibit its impressive sporting capabilities on a variety of platforms. This has certainly been the case over previous seasons with various cup wins and impressive competition performances from all Holdsworth sporting teams.

The Holdsworth football team consists of one full 11-a-side roster that plays in an intramural league on Sunday’s. During the week we participate in two six a side leagues. Both formats are played across the first two semesters and during this time there will also be opportunities to compete against other law schools in various tournaments.
The Holdsworth Netball team consists of a squad of 20 girls, including captains and social secretaries. Training takes place once a week in the Sports Centre on campus. Each week a team will be selected to compete in the intra-mural league, in which the club took first place in the 2016-17 season. A highlight of the season is the annual Manchester tournament, where the squad competes against law societies from various universities alongside the men’s rugby and football teams.
